Olivea is an eloquent journalist, tactical businesswoman, and leader within her community. Despite struggling with Dyslexia, Olivea graduated from Toronto Metropolitan University formerly known as Ryerson University in 2023. Olivea has a Bachelor of Journalism and a minor in Geography. Olivea is pursuing a digital marketing certificate while working full-time as an on-air radio reporter in the BIPOC community.

Her resilience earned her the Vice President position of her sorority and multiple scholarships during her 4-year undergraduate studies. Dedicated to young women’s growth and well-being, Olivea runs a non-profit organization; Sisters 4 Dreams, that focuses on inspiring, empowering and mentoring young women and girls. Olivea has won the C5 Chambers of Commerce “Young Professional Award”. An award that’s based on community service. Olivea’s other significant achievement includes the successful My Younger Self Gala hosted by Sister 4 Dreams. The “My Younger Self” gala. was a creative way to give young women and girls mentorship and empowerment while also engaging with women in senior homes allowing them to share their stories and what they learnt over the years and as a way to help the young people they were partnered with.

Olivea has focused on supporting GTA charities and at-risk youth. Working with local food banks and donation centers as well as hosting her own local donation drive to make it easier for people to give back.

Olivea struggled in the school system due to undiagnosed Dyslexia. Olivea turned to poetry, and journalism as a way to cope with being misunderstood by this learning disability. Once Olivea understood her form of Dyslexia, she used her multiple platforms of social media, podcasts and past titles to amplify her voice to bring awareness to learning disabilities and female empowerment.

Olivea looks forward to building a career that will empower women to stay true to themselves and explore their passions regardless of circumstances. Olivea’s one piece of advice to young people is to “Work on your craft every day and show it off every chance you get!”
